Groundhogs can be very destructive to the foundation of buildings as well as potentially cause a fire hazard by chewing through wires.  So while many may think groundhogs are cute, their behaviors can sometimes cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars worth of damage.  Or, in the case of the motorcycle accident, they could cost a life.
