Generally speaking if you have skunks, check the health of your lawn.  Skunks eat grubs that may be located in your lawn or flower beds.  By treating your lawn you will naturally eliminate your skunk issue

Skunks will not hurt you, though they could bite if provoked.  Many states, including Pennsylvania, allow residents to keep skunks as pets.  While pet skunks are usually de-scented, keep in mind that wild skunks are not.

Skunks spray because they are frightened and it is a natural defense.  Consider it nature’s form of pepper spray.

Since skunks are not harmful and can actually be beneficial to the environment, we do everything we can to preserve the skunk and relocate it once it is trapped.
